COURSE CONTENT:
-
Understanding Vinyasa Flow Yoga begins by paying homage to our lineage, which derives from the practical beauty of Sri Krishnamacharya’s teachings. An exploration of Pranams and classical Surya and Chandra Namaskars will form a clear and steady foundation for developing basic and intelligent sequences for personal practice and teaching.
-
Utilizing Krishnamacharya’s ‘Vinyasa Krama’ method we will further develop our understanding of intelligent and purposeful sequencing that honours the natural unfolding of the body in the flow - moving from simple to complex in the practice. Understanding the ‘why’ behind the ‘doing’ will develop skill and confidence not only in your personal practice but also in the creation of class plans and the delivery of your offerings.
-
Exploring functional breathing patterns and how the breath supports, informs and guides the practice
-
This new movement map honours the unique and individual physicality of each body to access a deep feeling state within ones personal practice andteachings. Through this module we will gain a greater understanding of what mobility is and how it fits in to a modern-day yoga practice. Learn the techniques to fortify your own practice and how best to communicate that experience and knowledge to support your students in the flow.
